We utilize only kiln dried Western Red Cedar,
picked for interesting grains and lack of flaws.
Cedar is a lightweight yet rot-resistant wood that displays beautiful marked grain patterns. The sign is laminated with a waterproof glue. Larger signs are reinforced with steel rods to ensure long-term stability and strength. We have some signs still in use after almost 20 years.
We usually use 2in and 4in thicknesses (see note *). We have made signs as small as 4 in. x 12 in. and large as 7 ft. x 13 ft. and as long as 18 ft. We carefully sandblast to ensure an even depth (1/2 in. - 3/4 in. - less depth for smaller signs), and the finishing is with the best materials available. This ensures that your sign gives many years of productive use.
