Modern
technology can not duplicate the natural characteristics of western
red cedar and a Sandblasted Sign made from it stands tall above
the rest. Red Cedar is a species of evergreen coniferous tree
native to the northwestern United States and southwestern Canada,
from southern Alaska and British Columbia south to northwest California
and inland to western Montana. Individual boards of cedar that
are Kiln dried, edge (vertical) grained and clear of knots have
no peer. Its home is outdoors and if properly finished will not
be affected by weather for 10 to 20 years with minor maintenance.
It is the natural components of Western Red Cedar that make it
truly unique; even among other western
wood.
It is naturally resistant to moisture, decay and insects. It can
be exposed to rain, cold, sun and heat all year round with little
effect. This natural beauty and durability, plus one more unique
characteristic makes the end sandblasted sign product stand out
from all the rest. When exposed to the blasting sand the wood
will erode away in deep ridges as the tree grain alternates in
consistency. These stable ridges and valleys give the sandblasted
sign an amazing depth and beauty and can not be duplicated by
any modern technology plus no other natural wood reacts this way.
Western Red Cedar is predominantly resin and pitch free so will accept finishes such as oils and stains readily and evenly. Its unfinished texture ranges from soft auburns, light and dark red as well as rich browns.
Our Sandblasted Cedar Signs will set your business, organization or home miles apart from the ordinary!
